Stupid people VS Smart people?

What is stupid? What is smart? I am 16 and I failed two of my cles but I joined the creative minds club and I am now the president. I always thought people who could remember anything someone gave them and spoke out an idea that someone else has already professed are stupid. They are robots. They do what you tell them to do, think how they SHOULD think. An intelligent mind has ideas of their own. Anyone can remember something someone has told them. Yet a person who can think beyond what was told to them are really the smart ones. So do you think someone is smarter listening to something or reading something and remembering everything that was said? or someone who thinks about why it was said in the first place?
