Has modern Christianity reduced God to a comic book character?

I'm thumbing through a brochure left on my doorstep and it's like reading a bad comic book. Happy people sitting on clouds playing harps, A little boy petting a docile lion, people dressed in what appears to be hospital gowns; Can you at least update your graphics?
