From a mechanical standpoint which gas engine have you found to be most reliable and why?

years ago I had a 73cutl S 350 rocket motor oldsmobile that car took me any where I want it to go, for todays motors I think the chevy V8 out last any motor next to the 4.6 V8 ford has,the chevy V6 4.3 vortec is great ,for the 4 cylinder, toyota has everybody beat.
